Pulse rate of 37?!

I’m still here, still coughing up a lung from this flu and my heart rate is still giving me problems, it has been a very scary time. I’ve never seen my pulse go so low before. It’s been so erratic, my pulse oximeter has been going from 37 to 75 and anywhere in between in the space of a few seconds. Although this morning I find it has been 90 with the occasional thump and flutter in my chest and it drops down to 60. It tends to be slower the more tired I am, later in the evening before bedtime as well which is when it’s going on average of 45-55 with drops down to 37, once I caught it for a spilt second at 32.

Anyway, I spoke to my Dr who had to do a crash course in POTS while talking to me lol But he agrees it’s likely to be a reaction because of the flu, that because I’m not getting any symptoms such as passing out, out of breath etc while my pulse is low and it’s not consistently low then there’s nothing that would be done anyway. To take a wait and see approach to see if it starts to become more stable as I recover from this flu. If it doesn’t, no doubt I’ll need another 24hr monitor. It is rather frightening to go to sleep while it is low though.

Funnily enough, I felt a little better on Sunday and actually made a new outfit to sell on Second Life, it has been ages since I did something new. I also really, really need to do some studying, that’s been a few weeks too, I’m so tired today because I didn’t sleep well last night due to the worry over my heart rate, so I’m not sharp enough to study and retain anything today. Unfortunately, tomorrow I have a medical for my disability benefits renewal, I’m not looking forward to it. Already my old claim has ran out and I’m £500 down this month, a big drop in income. I so hope it goes ok and I get my money back. It’s another stress I can do without. It never rains but it pours!
