Summer seems to have finally arrived this year, everywhere I look (online!) people are rejoicing about the heat, getting their pasty white bodies out in skimpy summer clothes, or in the case of my next doors grandchild today, completely starkers in the garden! The smell of barbeques is rife in the air from all directions. Do I feel sad I can’t join in with all the fun and frolics in the sun, do I heck! I’m hibernating with curtains firmly shut and the a/c turned up to the max!
I really thought I’d get my wish this year of it being winter all year round so the sudden, rude awakening of summer arriving this morning had me grumpy and worried. My body can’t cope with any heat, not even normal room temperature or I can barely breathe and end up literally half-conscious and I always worry my a/c will hold out when it’s this hot, thanks to all the past problems I’ve had with it.
Roll on winter!
I’ve been keeping myself busy with various projects and one of them has me being slightly more physically active, nothing major but sat up for a couple of hours a day and pottering around a little more seems to be helping my health a tiny amount. I’ll take whatever improvement I can get, although I won’t be going salsa dancing anytime soon! The small amount of extra activity also seems to have improved how badly I suffer with my monthly visitor and even helped my sensory neuropathic cough a little which is strange because usually if I do more, it makes it worse. My incredibly bad costochondritis has not been quite so bad or frequent either, probably because I’m sitting up for a couple of hours a day rather than being slumped/reclined on the bed. My son has just started with a sore throat and I hope I don’t get it because it’ll pull me back again so I have to start all over again building back up to where I am now and that can take weeks or even months. I did just have a few days where my shoulder muscles tightened so bad it spread to my neck and affected my ears so they were blocked and the slightest noise was almost painful. I had a constant muzzy head as well but seems to have improved today thankfully. Fingers crossed my son’s virus escapes me if my neck/ear thing wasn’t part of it and it was me that passed it onto him lol
I’m still studying as well, this one is a longer course. I’ve just started on my 9th lesson/assignment. 16 more to go after this one.
Well, it’s my bedtime so I’d better get offline and shut the computer down so I can read for a while to wind down. If I don’t, I end up not getting to sleep for hours and feeling terrible the next day. I hope everyone is as well as they can be and not suffering in the heat (if you have some).
